“Being a psychologist helps with understanding the human aspect of what’s going in the life of a single, and being attached to a church helps us immensely with spiritual aspect,” Corbett says.

“I started the group because I wanted to find traditional love singles.” At first, Boyd said, just four or five women would show up for the meet-ups, but they now have more than 350 women in the group, which helps women build the tools to go find relationships.
“With the women in the group, a lot of us like structure in our dating,” Boyd says. I’ve had the group so long I take it for granted, but it’s been very rewarding for me.”Some of the rules from the book include “be easy to be with but hard to get” and “be honest but mysterious.” Nikita Omar, 39 of Olney, says the rules helped her to be not afraid to flirt and gave her a guide on how to attract the right guys.
She has three godchildren and two sponsored children, one of which she visited in Peru.
“We’ll go out Latin dancing outside of The Mix or just chill out at each other’s houses.
It’s a nice springboard for friendships.” While singles groups are about finding friendships for some, for others, it’s about getting structure and help in finding that special someone.
